AV Transit Custom Achieves Platinum Safety Rating from ANCAP.

When it comes to safety, Ford has once again set the standard in the industry. The new-generation Ford Transit Custom has achieved an all-time record high score of 96%, earning a prestigious PLATINUM grading. This accolade is a testament to Ford's unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of every driver, passenger, and pedestrian on the road.

The Transit Custom comes equipped with an extensive suite of active safety features as standard, making it a leader in its class. With the ability to detect and respond to other vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists in both forward and turning scenarios, the Transit Custom has demonstrated exceptional performance in each of these critical areas. Full points were awarded for lane support, speed assistance, and occupant status monitoring.

According to ANCAP, further positive safety specification adjustments across commercial vans models sold in Australia and New Zealand are anticipated in the coming year as a result of regulatory safety changes introduced into the European market last month (EU GSR2).

The traditional ANCAP safety (star) rating program evaluates the safety of passenger cars, SUVs and light commercial vehicles (MA, MB, MC, and NA category vehicles).

This Commercial Van Safety Comparison analysis has been undertaken as a parallel consumer information program to the star rating program to allow consumers and fleets to compare the availability and performance of active safety features across the commercial van market (NA and NB category vehicles).

The results from this analysis of ADAS performance do not replace or alter any existing ANCAP safety (star) ratings.
